What this job involves:
As a Lead Critical Environment Logistics Manager at JLL, you will oversee and optimize the complex logistics operations that keep mission-critical facilities running seamlessly. This leadership position involves managing a team of material handlers while ensuring the flawless coordination of specialized materials, equipment, and supplies within a data center environment where any disruption could have significant consequences. You will drive operational excellence through strategic planning, team development, and process improvement while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead and mentor a team of material handlers, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure consistent service excellence
  • Develop and implement strategic inventory management plans to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure availability of critical components
  • Coordinate with facility management, engineering teams, and external vendors to forecast material needs and plan complex logistics operations
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for material handling, storage, and distribution while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Respond to and coordinate emergency material requests, making critical decisions to minimize facility downtime and operational disruptions
  • Conduct regular team meetings and safety briefings to maintain high standards of performance and workplace safety
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service level agreements to ensure optimal support for critical operations
  • Oversee budget management for materials and supplies while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service

Required qualifications:
  • Associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Extensive experience in critical environment operations such as data centers, healthcare facilities, laboratories, or manufacturing plants
  • Proven track record of leading teams and driving operational improvements in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Advanced proficiency with warehouse management systems, inventory optimization software, and data analysis tools
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and safety protocols for critical environments
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and controlling operational costs
  • Flexibility to provide coverage across multiple shifts and respond to emergency situations as needed

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as APICS Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other continuous improvement frameworks
  • Advanced knowledge of specialized critical environment protocols including cleanroom operations and ESD procedures
  • Experience managing multi-site logistics operations or coordinating across geographically dispersed teams
  • Demonstrated success in vendor management and contract negotiation within critical environment settings
