Job description

Position: Shipping Assistant
Location: Harmony, PA
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $22.00/hour
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (daily overtime available)

Position Overview:
The Shipping Assistant will support daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and proper documentation throughout the process. This role works closely with the shop supervisor and plays a key part in maintaining smooth logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use time effectively and maintain an organized workflow
  • Work closely with the shop supervisor on daily operations
  • Process inbound shipments and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and clearly
  • Manage outbound orders, ensuring they are fulfilled correctly
  • Ensure all items are securely packed and labeled
  • Attach all required paperwork, including packing slips, to outgoing orders
  • Complete shipping reports and provide accurate documentation for accounting
  • Take photos of shipments for records
  • Assist with loading trucks and verifying shipment accuracy
  • Operate a forklift (preferred)
Additional Responsibilities (as needed):
  • Prepare shipping reports
  • Maintain and track back-ordered items; follow up with the shop supervisor
  • Schedule pickups with trucking companies
  • Prepare bills of lading
  • Assist with inventory control and quality assurance
Qualifications:
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (shipping experience preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with shipping processes and documentation
  • Experience with rigging points is a plus
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Must wear steel-toe boots on site
Additional Requirements:
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening
