Position Overview:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of raw materials and finished goods. This role manages transportation, freight optimization, carrier performance, and logistics-related continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

Working closely with Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, and Finance, the Logistics Manager ensures materials are available to support production schedules while maintaining service levels and controlling transportation. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and company profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics & Transportation Management
  • Manage all inbound and outbound transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with freight carriers, brokers, and logistics service providers.

  • Monitor carrier performance, service levels, claims, and freight costs to ensure compliance with company expectations.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize transportation routes, shipment consolidation, and freight spend.

  • Lead freight contract negotiations and transportation-related vendor management activities.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and monitor logistics and supply chain KPIs, including freight spend, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, claims, warehouse productivity, and transportation performance.

  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions for service failures and operational issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process efficiency, and customer service improvements.

  • Present logistics performance metrics and operational updates to the Exec team and Operations leadership.

  • Utilize data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain.

Team Leadership
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Operations Analyst and other assigned team members.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align logistics priorities with business objectives.

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, import/export requirements, and safety standards.

  • Manage freight claims, transportation audits, and logistics-related documentation.

  • Support customs and trade compliance activities as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting related to logistics operations.

  • Strong knowledge of transportation management and supply chain best practices.

  • Experience negotiating with carriers, freight providers, and logistics vendors.

  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills with strong proficiency in Excel.

  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as QlikSense, Power BI, SQL or similar platforms preferred.

  • Understanding of import/export processes and trade compliance preferred.

  • Fluent in Spanish preferred.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to BuildASign/Cimpress manufacturing facilities.

  • Available to work onsite full-time at our Austin, TX facility.
