Job description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities


-Manage company-wide logistics activities to meet or exceed objectives, track and report operational metrics

-Subject matter expert (SME) for all Logistics and Trade Compliance functions. Contact for audits, regulatory and or customers inquiries

-Negotiate and manage freight contracts – ex: Small Package, LTL, FCL (FedEx, UPS, XPO, Kuehne & Nagel, Expeditors, etc.)

-Ensure contract compliance to trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal logistics policies, for accuracy and vendor performance

-Work directly with Customers Brokers for optimizing freight processes (ex: Farrow, RL Swear)

-Manage Logistic Service Providers including (ex: Transportation Insight)

-Audit suppliers for compliance to contract expectations and standards

-Commodity Analysis - review of NMFC, country of origin HTS classifications, FTA, Tariff and Duties to drive cost savings and compliance

-Enhance / document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize (FG/ RM) product flow, warehouse, and material handling

-Proactive communication to internal company stakeholders regarding spend analysis for metric management

-Support internal teams with Logistics guidance and execution (Incoterms, HTS codes, ACE)

-Collaborate with engineering, legal, tax and accounting business units, and other cross-functional teams to gather necessary technical details for export classifications

-Work through the Duty Drawback process

-Support business, legal, and functional leaders to support manufacturing, sourcing, and trade initiatives while managing risk

-Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S principles to drive efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement.

-Drive Corrective Actions across all function areas as needed

-Provide compliance training to cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Sales, to ensure organization-wide awareness of regulatory obligations.

- Drive risk assessments, internal controls, self-audits, and corrective and preventive action plans.

-Optimize duty savings through compliant use of tariff classification, duty programs, and free trade agreements.

-Manage trade compliance data, systems, metrics, and training to ensure sustained regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

-Lead and manage Quarterly Business Reviews with appropriate individuals


Education

-Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field

-Certification in Trade, Logistics, and/or Transportation preferred

-Certification in Hazardous/Dangerous Goods preferred


Experience

-5+ years of experience in Logistics within international manufacturing company

-3+ years of experience in import/export customs and trade compliance. Experience working with U.S. trade regulatory agencies, including US customs and Broder protection, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and other participating government agencies (either directly or indirectly)

-1+ year of supervisor/management experience preferred
