Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Logistics Manager to join our team in Ruther Glen, Virginia. This individual will be responsible for providing the guidance to ensure the operation is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, government regulations and the WCD Policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching, counseling and conflict resolution, exceptional organizational and time management skills, and more listed below. Duties and Responsibilities
  • The On-Site Manager provides transportation guidance for their location managing workflow/task execution and the integration of all functions to the site.
  • Implements and ensures compliance to these procedures WCD Logistics Standard Operating
  • Procedures (SOP). Ensures all employees are trained and adhere to these policies or report any non-conformances for correction.
  • Upon load quote request from customer (Trader Joeโ€™s) Manager will ensure proper process of request through the system, ensure rates are accurate, responses are done on a timely manner, professionally and expeditiously.
  • Ensures Dispatch Agents are properly trained in the carrier selection for optimal efficiency, proper carrier communication and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Provides timely communication to customers on all aspects of shipment status, Point of contact for carriers, and proactively follows up regularly to build relationships and to grow a registry of carrier companies who can provide broker truckload shipments at desirable rates.
  • Ensures all documentation and reports are processed in a timely manner and accurately
  • Documentation of comments, communication and follow-up via the telephone to ensure the carrier performance meets the customer expectations.
  • Negotiate terms and rates for shippers and carriers required to move cargo in the absence of carrier contracts or system.
  • Monitors and records carrier performance and failures. Will work closely with Logistics Manager to continually improve processes, carrier selection and services.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company.
  • Troubleshoot issues that may arise during shipment.
  • Will evaluate and measure employee performance and help develop their skills.
  • Will provide optimum customer service and lead by example in all aspects of Manager/Supervisors job responsibilities
  • Will create a positive environment for employees and co-workers and help maintain morale.
  • Will participate in meetings and will be expected to work weekends, holidays, long hours when needed.
  • Step in when necessary in the absence of key individuals in the department to keep operations running.
  • On call 24/7 for emergencies, staffing concerns, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ability to work graveyard hours, weekends, holidays and OT- flexibility of schedule is a must
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching, counseling and conflict resolution.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage stress in self and others within a fast-paced environment, adapting readily to change.
  • Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications.
  • Have (TMS) Transportation Management Systems software knowledge related to load processing, quote request, shipment tracking, etc.
  • Preferred experience with TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, RoadNet.
  • Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data.
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of upper management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual is a plus. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.
  • Degree in related field or must have 5+ years of equivalent experience in transportation or logistics, which includes customer processing, route delivery procedures and basic security and operational procedures, transportation, logistics, Brokerage and or 3PL environments
  • Must have 2+ yearsโ€™ experience in a manager/supervisor or lead position in Traffic or related field
  • Understanding of DOT rules and regulations, vehicle weight capacity and load specโ€™s, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work standing up or sitting down for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to traverse and access all areas of a warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to work in a Distribution Center environment with a variation of temperatures.
