Job description

TMC Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Logistics Clerk for a temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in logistics, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate shipment records, assisting with inventory control, and communicating shipment updates with customers and internal teams.


Inbound Shipments

  • Schedule and coordinate inbound shipments.
  • Notify customers when a purchase order (PO) is unavailable.
  • Maintain daily truck schedules, including appointments and PO numbers.
  • Monitor shipments and escalate late or missed pickups.

Outbound Shipments & Order Processing

  • Update purchase orders in real time.
  • Process orders and enter STAs for outbound shipments.
  • Maintain daily truck schedules, including appointments and sales order (SO) numbers.
  • Confirm pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate customer order and shipment information, including appointments.

Inventory Control

  • Assist with inventory counts and material movements.
  • Perform routine cycle counts.
  • Process inventory adjustment forms with management approval.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Communication & Support

  • Provide shipment status updates to Customer Service and internal departments.
  • Escalate customer concerns and transportation issues as needed.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication between departments.
  • Assist with other logistics and warehouse administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of logistics, inventory, shipping/receiving, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering data into systems or spreadsheets.
  • Ability to research and resolve inventory or shipment discrepancies.
  • Previous experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or transportation scheduling is a plus.
