Job description

Dispatcher (Logistics & Transportation) Pay Rate: $24.00/hour Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Overtime: Required Interview: Required JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation and delivery operations. This role is responsible for scheduling routes, assigning drivers, monitoring shipments, and ensuring timely, compliant service. The Dispatcher serves as a key point of contact for drivers, internal teams, and customers while resolving real-time issues and maintaining efficient workflow.

RESPONSIBILITIES Dispatch & Coordination • Schedule delivery routes and assign drivers to maximize efficiency • Monitor shipments and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries • Communicate with drivers, customer service teams, and internal departments • Handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls Freight & Airport Operations • Coordinate recovery and tender of freight at local airports • Break down freight upon return to the facility • Ensure proper storage and handling of shipments Cold Chain & Packaging • Maintain cold chain integrity for temperature-sensitive shipments • Prepare, refurbish, and configure gel packs and packaging materials • Assist with packaging supply preparation for client pickups Tracking & Documentation • Monitor shipment status, including clearance and delivery approvals • Update dispatch systems, flight monitors, and shipment notes • Manage shared and individual email inboxes promptly • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements Operational Support • Assist leadership with daily operational needs • Monitor on-hold shipments and ensure timely resolution • Report issues, delays, or concerns to management immediately • Maintain training records, certifications, and required documentation • Cross-functional support as needed QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or GED required • 2–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or a related field • Strong computer proficiency • Excellent communication (written and verbal) • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment • Sense of urgency and attention to detail • Professional demeanor ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends as needed • Willingness to work overtime If you are interested, please reach out to Chin Yang at A-Line Staffing . 586-323-4194 | cyang@alinestaffing.com .
