Job description

Trident Consulting is seeking a " Logistics & Transportation Specialist for one of our clients in " Norwood, OH ” A global leader in business and technology services.

Job Title: Logistics & Transportation Specialist

Location: Norwood, OH (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (05/20/2026 – 05/19/2027)
Pay Rate: $25/hr on W2
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Logistics & Transportation Specialist to support shipping, transportation, and distribution operations within a warehouse environment. This role will coordinate domestic and international shipments, prepare shipping documentation, work with freight forwarders and carriers, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations including DOT, IATA, and IMDG requirements.

The ideal candidate will have logistics, supply chain, warehouse, transportation, or shipping experience and strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Transportation Coordination

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Prepare and submit shipment documentation and booking requests.
  • Obtain shipment bookings with freight forwarders, steamship lines, and consolidators.
  • Route shipments efficiently while considering cost, service, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate shipment consolidations to improve transportation efficiency.

Logistics & Customer Support

  • Act as liaison between customers, freight forwarders, freight brokers, and carriers.
  • Resolve shipment issues including delays, lost shipments, and damaged freight.
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to shipping and transportation.
  • Support hazardous material shipment documentation requirements (no physical handling required).

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Manage administrative and warehouse supply inventory.
  • Monitor replenishment levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and logistics records.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare shipping and export documentation.
  • Maintain electronic and paper document files.
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • DOT Regulations
  • IATA Regulations
  • IMDG Regulations
  • Good Distribution Practices (GDP)
  • Support hazardous material shipping documentation.

General Duties

  • Maintain shipment records and tracking information.
  • Support warehouse and distribution activities as required.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative and logistics tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in:
