Logistics & Transportation Clerk

General Position Summary

The Logistics & Transportation Clerk supportsย manufacturing and supply chain operations by coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing import documentation, maintaining accurate inventory records, and facilitating transportation activities across multiple warehouse locations. This role combines traditional transportation clerk responsibilities with logistics and inventory control functions commonly seen at peer specialty chemical and elastomer manufacturers, emphasizing compliance, accuracy, customer service, and operational continuity.

Essential Job Functions

Logistics, Transportation & Shipping

Schedule inbound and outbound shipments with approved carriers and communicate shipment details and notifications.

Check in drivers, verify load documentation, assign loaders, and prepare shipping paperwork.

Prepare daily and future shipment schedules, including pick lists for warehouse and night shift operations.

Verify outbound order labels and documentation to ensure accuracy prior to shipment.

Post shipped orders, maintain current shipment files, and archive historical shipment records.

Track delayed trucks and follow up with carriers to ensure on-time delivery performance.

Other & Miscellaneous

Participate in continuous improvementย initiatives related to logistics, inventory accuracy, and transportation efficiency.

Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal reporting as required.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of logistics and operations.

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in logistics, transportation, inventory control, or import/export operations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP or logistics systems preferred.
