Transportation & Logistics Analyst (Hybrid Contract)
Location: Houston, TX 77056 (Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Schedule: Flexible (7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 9:00 AM-6:00 PM; aligned with team schedule; no consecutive remote days)
Pay Rate: $22-$25/hour
Duration: Long-term contract with strong potential for conversion in 2027
Why This Role
LHH is partnering with a growing organization in Houston to hire a Transportation & Logistics Analyst to support day-to-day freight execution and analysis. This is an entry-to-early-career opportunity for candidates who enjoy working with data, coordinating transportation, and improving logistics processes.
If you have experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or supply chain-and you're looking to build hands-on experience in LTL, FTL, and SAP-this role offers long-term stability and career growth.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll support transportation planning and performance across multiple shipment types while partnering closely with internal operations teams.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating daily LTL and full truckload shipments
  • Selecting and scheduling carriers based on routing and service needs
  • Analyzing transportation options to recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Supporting freight analysis and transportation decision-making
  • Auditing freight invoices for accuracy and contract compliance
  • Investigating shipment delays, service issues, and discrepancies
  • Tracking and publishing monthly transportation KPIs
  • Maintaining vendor and carrier records (current and historical)
  • Assisting with carrier claims and issue resolution
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities through data analysis
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support logistics execution
What We're Looking For
This role is well-suited for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables required; VLOOKUP preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to follow established processes and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with routing or transportation software
  • ERP or Transportation Management System experience (SAP a plus; training provided)
  • Background in logistics, transportation, dispatch, brokerage, warehousing, or supply chain operations
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 1-2+ years of logistics or transportation experience
  • Open to recent graduates with strong Excel skills and a demonstrated interest in supply chain or logistics
Additional Details
  • Industry experience in chemical manufacturing, trucking, or carrier environments is a plus
  • This role reports to a hands-on leader and requires a high level of independence

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to operational environments
  • PPE may be required when visiting operational areas

  • Up to 5% travel may be required
