About the Role: The Operations Manager Move is responsible for the daily execution and performance of the moving operation. This role oversees dispatch logistics, crew assignments, job scheduling, and operational coordination to ensure moving services are delivered safely, efficiently, and with exceptional customer experience. Working closely with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager, the Operations Manager ensures move jobs are properly scheduled, routed, and executed while maintaining compliance with tariff regulations, valuation documentation requirements, and safety standards. This leader also supports crews throughout the day, resolves operational challenges, and ensures all move operations meet company performance expectations.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities of the Role)

Daily Dispatch & Logistics Management
Manage daily dispatching, routing, and scheduling for all moving jobs.
Coordinate crew assignments and ensure appropriate staffing for each move.
Monitor job progress throughout the day and adjust schedules or resources as needed.
Communicate accurate ETAs and schedule updates with customers and internal teams.
Customer Communication & Service Recovery
Serve as the primary operational contact for customers on moving day.
Communicate proactively with customers regarding job timing, updates, or changes.
Resolve customer concerns and execute service recovery when issues arise.
Ensure customers receive professional and positive experience throughout the move.
Tariff & Documentation Compliance
Ensure all moving jobs comply with tariff regulations and company policies.
Verify that valuation coverage, contracts, and required documentation are completed accurately.
Maintain proper paperwork and job records to meet compliance and audit standards.
Reinforce proper documentation procedures with crews and operational staff.
Safety Leadership
Lead safety oversight for moving crews including pre-shift safety briefings and operational training.
Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and safe driving practices.
Reinforce proper lifting techniques, equipment use, and job-site safety procedures.
Monitor safety performance and address risks proactively.
Crew Management & Operational Support
Provide daily leadership and operational support to moving crews.
Coach crews on efficiency, customer service, and job execution standards.
Monitor job performance and provide feedback to improve crew productivity and service quality.
Support the Assistant General Manager with team development and training initiatives.
Labor Coordination & Reporting
Partner with the Labor Specialist to reconcile daily labor and job performance.
Ensure accurate reporting of labor hours, job completion, and operational metrics.
Track operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

What You Bring (Experience Needed for the Role)
2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, dispatching, or service management.
Experience managing crews or frontline operational teams.
Strong organizational and scheduling skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage daily operational logistics and resolve issues quickly.
Experience in moving, logistics, home services, or transportation preferred.
Familiarity with tariff regulations, valuation documentation, and operational compliance preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Valid drivers license required.
