Job description

Shift: 7:00 PM-7:30 AMHourly Rate: $30.78 an hour + $.85 shift differential

The Maintenance Technician role at Conagra performs all corrective and preventive maintenance as scheduled. This position is onsite in St. Elmo, Illinois, and reports to the Maintenance department leaders. Enhanced reliability is achieved through on-time completion and strict adherence to continuous improvement philosophies and methods. Brands made at our facility include Mrs. Butterworth's, Log Cabin, Wish-Bone, Bernsteins, Open Pit, Hunt's and Orvillle Redenbacher.

You Will:
  • Be committed to producing safe, quality food.

  • Ensure efficient operation of all production lines including mechanical and electrical services.

  • You will perform all work conforming to Conagra, state and local standards and codes.

  • Perform the following responsibilities: electrical troubleshooting, parts manufacture, and proper operation of shop equipment.

  • Follow all Safety and Good Manufacturing Policies.

  • Provide operator training in safety, set-up, changeover, and Operator Asset Care.

  • Support construction-type work involving the removal or installation of equipment.

You Have:
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

  • General knowledge of advanced electronic controls including VFD drives, Start/Stop, starters, and contactors. Proximity switches, RTD's, and PT's/

  • Basic electronic troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot single and three-phase motors.

  • Repair Pneumatic cylinders and flow control components.

  • Demonstrate basic analysis of mechanical systems.

  • Repair mechanical power distribution components:

    • Belts and chains

    • Sprockets, Pulleys, and Sheaves

    • Bearings and shafts

    • Gearboxes and clutches

  • Repair fluid distribution components:

    • Manual, motor-operated and pneumatic-actuated valves

    • Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps

    • Fluid system filters and strainers

  • Computer knowledge and use

    • Microsoft Office

    • CMMS applications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
