TITLE: Bank Operations Specialist

DEPARTMENT: 955 โ€“ Deposit Operations


JOB SUMMARY:

The Bank Operations Specialist is responsible for processing multiple bank and client records and files in a timely manner. This position will research and respond to internal and external inquiries and provide accurate information.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete domestic and foreign wire transfer requests in accordance with policy and procedures, governing wire transfer operations, utilizing multiple wire transfer systems.
  • Verify that all information on wire transfers being processed through the department is accurate.
  • Perform and/or document โ€œcallbackโ€ verifications when required on outgoing wires.
  • Process appropriate entries on incoming and outgoing wires in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Utilize the Personal Identification Number (PIN) authority list according to wire transfer agreements.
  • Understand overdraft decision making to determine which overdraft checks to pay and which to return according to bank guidelines.
  • Prepare all demand deposit and general ledger recons that are assigned on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Perform account adjustment.
  • Perform other tasks involving wire logging and tracking, CD interest check posting and mailing, dollar posting, chargebacks and ATM adjustments.
  • Prepare all lockbox contents to the specifications provided by the clients in accordance to their lockbox agreement. This will include preparing manual lockbox contents as well as assisting with the process of all automated lockbox contents.
  • Protect all documents after scanning, including safe disposal when applicable and according to HIPAA requirements.
  • May provide support for Client Care, Retail and other departments.
  • May be assigned additional duties such as answering client calls, respond to client requests through various channels, provide assistance with online banking, mobile banking, bill pay access, etc.
  • Review IRA and HSA forms and transactions are completed and accurate for reporting to the IRS.
  • Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements applicable to this position.
  • Foster and preserve a culture of inclusion.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required to support the companyโ€™s mission, vision and values.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
  • Two yearsโ€™ experience in banking operations.
  • Experience in a retail and/or client service environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of balancing procedures.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Capability to work independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, etc)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Duties are performed in a professional office environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays.
