Job description

As a Site Trainer/Instructional Designer in Operations, you will deliver new hire and cross-functional training to associates and leaders, gain insights into the operations workflow, and assess the impact of emerging technologies on future processes.  You will be responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining training and support documentation that enables consistent operational readiness and successful project or business initiative implementations. 

Your training solutions are expected to be hands-on, interactive, engaging, and concise, leveraging adult learning theory and modern training development methodologies and tools across blended learning formats, including instructor-led classroom training, virtual instruction, e-learning, and gamification. You will manage multiple training projects in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with operations managers, training developers, and business analysts to ensure successful training implementations.  You will succeed in this role if you are a poised, flexible, and highly collaborative team player who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment, facilitate confidently in the classroom, and apply sound instructional design practices to produce innovative, results-driven learning experiences. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom, virtual, and floor huddle training sessions to support operations and follow up to provide evaluation, coaching, and feedback to develop new hires and existing employees on job performance and skill acquisition
  • Manage ongoing training programs; assess and recommend changes to training programs and provide input into the development of new training programs.  Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness by deploying measurement and feedback tools
  • Schedule training, coordinate resources, and maintain records of training sessions and participants
  • Exhibit a drive for excellence and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet delivery timelines with a strong sense of ownership in your personal and team deliverables
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with management to ensure that the training curriculum addresses gaps and needs
  • Support the operation sites during system and production implementation of new procedures and processes
  • Maintain the training system environment for ongoing training
  • Design training materials, including, but not limited to, observable, measurable, and meaningful learning outcomes, performance competencies, interactive elements, case studies, assessments, and activities
  • Evaluate and implement instructional design best practices to enhance learning experiences and drive user engagement.
  • Present complex information a clear, concise, and accurate manner throughout all phases of analysis, design, and development.  Deliver to audiences in easy-to-understand, non-technical language
  • Demonstrate flexibility in supporting 24-hour operations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent four-year practical experience in an operation/production, finance institution, or fast-paced business environment
  • Minimum four years of experience in technical and soft skill training and development
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and training development methodologies
  • Professional instruction and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively deliver technical training content, as well as an ability to facilitate discussion through interaction and engagement
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organization skills, and strong attention to details
  • Flexibility in changing work schedules to accommodate 24-hour operations
  • A creative mind to develop engaging content by utilizing text, illustrations, animations, and videos to enhance documentation
  • Strong research skills and the ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy
  • Proficient competency in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint and video/audio/graphic editing tools

Work schedule:  Must be flexible to support a 7 day/24-hour operation.  Will primarily work Sun-Thurs 10:00pm - 06:30am, but must be able to flex to meet peak business needs.
