Role Summary:

The Yard Operations Associate is responsible for ground-level operational excellence at their designated yard. This role involves managing daily operational tasks, maintaining site safety and security, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight:

    • Manage day-to-day yard operations, including the check-in/check-out process for trucks, trailers, and other rolling equipment.

    • Maintain an accurate and comprehensive record of all equipment entering and exiting the facility.

    • Coordinate with dispatchers and drivers to ensure efficient yard organization and flow.

    • Conduct regular yard inspections, addressing safety and maintenance issues promptly.

  • Customer Service:

    • Act as an on-site contact for drivers and customers, providing support and resolving issues efficiently.

    • Gather feedback from customers and drivers to identify opportunities for service improvement.

    • Monitor and adapt to regional economic trends to improve customer satisfaction.

  • Safety and Security:

    • Enforce all safety guidelines and protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the facility.

    • Monitor access points, surveillance systems, and overall yard security to ensure asset protection.

    • Conduct routine safety drills and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

  • Collaboration and Reporting:

    • Provide weekly operational reports, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities.

    • Support strategic initiatives by providing insights on customer behavior and yard utilization.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in logistics or operations management preferred.

  • Proven experience in an operations or logistics role, preferably within a truck or equipment yard environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.

  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, and CRM systems.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with customers and team members effectively.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience within a logistics or operations environment.

  • Familiarity with yard management systems and operational tracking tools.

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices.

  • Experience analyzing and adapting to regional economic variables to improve operational efficiency.

  • Valid Commercial Driverโ€™s License (CDL A or C).

Reporting Structure:
The Yard Operations Associate reports directly to the Regional Director and collaborates with other yard-level staff and corporate teams to achieve operational excellence.

Available Shift:

  • Shift: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

    • This is an on-site role located at 1511 Fulghum Rd, Hutchins, TX, 75141.
