About the team:

What can you look forward as a Program Buyer:
  • Support projects through procurement of all materials needed for a particular end product
  • Support the implementation of the ZF commodity strategies
  • Manage the whole purchasing process for new products or localization of existing products through supplier search, Bill of Material cost management; support the commodity organization in their request for quotations, commercial negotiations, contractual agreements including warranty and consignment agreements, prototype orders, and purchase orders and/or scheduling agreements.
  • Monitor the performance of the suppliers during program launch and through product life cycle
  • Continuously review cost performance to target; nominate parts for Global Competitive Sourcing
  • Analyze North American supply base to prepare and recommend suppliers to be added/removed from the approved supplier list as well as nominate suppliers for the Strategic Supplier List. Perform duties as assigned

Your profile as a Program Buyer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration, Economics or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a professional purchasing capacity (i.e. technical/commodity purchasing, purchasing project management, purchasing management, etc.).
  • Experience with supplier analysis and evaluation (i.e. quality, capacity, cost, etc.)
  • Experience with supplier bidding process and complex negotiations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project etc.)
  • Experience with APQP and/or project management tools and methods
  • Proven ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management and proven ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-volume environment
  • Must be local to South Carolina
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future.
