SUMMARY
This role leads the marketing and content-driven growth of our China business, shaping how our brands connect with fans through compelling storytelling, digital media, and culturally relevant campaigns. With a strong focus on content production and social platforms, the Marketing Manager drives innovative strategies tailored to the China market-bringing bold ideas to life that deliver measurable impact.
You'll partner cross-functionally to manage external media platforms, internal communications, brand initiatives, and creative campaigns, while building meaningful relationships across talent, culture, and community. Success in this role is reflected in audience growth, standout content, strong partnerships, and a growing talent network that elevates our presence in China.
This position manages one Marketing Coordinator and plays a key role in advancing both brand influence and business results.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead content strategy and creative direction to grow and elevate the Nets brand in China.
  • Develop and publish daily content across major Chinese platforms (Weibo, WeChat, Douyin, Tencent) for BKSE entities (Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, Barclays Center).
  • Identify cultural moments and media trends to drive timely, relevant, and engaging content.
  • Produce and host original long-form content for the China market, from concept and scripting through filming, editing, and distribution.
  • Adapt U.S. content for Chinese audiences and manage localization with external partners.
  • Track performance, define KPIs, and optimize organic and paid strategies based on data insights.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Content, Creative, Brand, Game Presentation, and Basketball Operations.
  • Lead major campaigns and seasonal initiatives for China, including Chinese New Year, from planning through execution and recap.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • 5+ years of hands-on social media experience, ideally within sports or a related industry.
  • Expert-level knowledge of major Chinese social platforms (Weibo, Douyin, Rednote, and others), including algorithms, content formats, and user behavior.
  • Proven familiarity with China's social media and digital ecosystem.
  • Experience using analytics to optimize content strategy and performance.
  • A strong understanding of how to drive engagement and growth across multiple platforms through strategic planning and execution.

COMPENSATION
$70,000 - $85,000 per year

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent primarily works in an office environment but is expected to attend Brooklyn Nets games, concerts, and major events at Barclays Center, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Requirements: May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5%); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
