Job description

TITLE: Associate Printer PAY PLAN: Hourly

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Safely produces printed film at accepted quality and productivity standards.

WORK PERFORMED:

  • Perform all responsibilities of an Assistant Operator.
  • Perform basic set-up, operation and troubleshooting of at least one type printing press.
  • Performs basic quality and line adjustments with little support of others.
  • Performs Lead Printer duties with support as needed for vacation coverage, call-ins, etc.
  • Gatherโ€™s travelers and sleeves from Pre Press and brings to presses.
  • Loads/Unloads/Manages Vista Port. May be required to manage more than one press at a time.
  • Set-up line for correct wind based on information from press schedule, traveler, and wind chart.
  • Set-up defect detection system. Identify issues and make necessary basic adjustments.
  • Read schedule and perform changeovers.
  • Complete required production and quality records paperwork.
  • Maintains high level of Housekeeping in work area.
  • Trains others of lower levels.
  • Successfully work with teams and team members to achieve department goals.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

  • Minimum 6 months as an Assistant Operator. Any deviation must be signed off by Production Manager.
  • Pass color perception test.
  • Advanced knowledge of the manufacturing processes, and machinery.
  • Understand all quality procedures.
  • Has completed required FTA online training.
  • Commit to follow the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines and ISO procedure.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Continuous learning will be expected
  • Able to work overtime as required
