Job Overview

The Distribution Dock Coordinator ensures the efficient check-in and check-out of trucks shipping finished goods to customers. This role utilizes the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to coordinate outbound shipments, checks in drivers, assigns trailers, prepares and follows up on shipping documentation, and communicates with both internal and external drivers to coordinate trailer loading.

This position serves as the primary liaison for resolving issues related to loading outbound orders while maintaining safety, compliance, and customer service standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound truck activity at the distribution dock

  • Use WMS to manage and track outbound shipments

  • Check in drivers and assign appropriate trailers

  • Prepare, verify, and follow up on shipment paperwork

  • Communicate loading schedules with warehouse and transportation teams

  • Serve as primary contact for resolving shipment and loading issues

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, provincial, federal, TTB, and Customs regulations

  • Support continuous process improvements related to dock and shipping operations


Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful work experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
