Job Description
Our 12-Month Paid Management Trainee Program is designed for motivated individuals seeking a long-term career in agriculture and livestock swine production. This hands-on leadership development program provides real-world experience across multiple areas of pork production while preparing participants for future leadership opportunities within our organization.
Location: Indiana and Pennsylvania

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a comprehensive 12 month leadership and swine production training program
  • Engage in hands-on farm production activities across breeding, gestation, farrowing, and wean-to-finish operations
  • Become certified as an Animal Care Specialist while learning industry-leading animal welfare practices
  • Attend monthly leadership development workshops, seminars, and guest speaker sessions
  • Gain exposure to multiple areas of the business, including farm operations, feed milling, transportation, production systems, and plant operations
  • Shadow farm support teams and operational leaders to develop a strong understanding of business functions and production flow
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) training programs and team-building retreats
  • Develop knowledge of biosecurity, swine health practices, production management, and agricultural operations
  • Build communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills through real-world operational experience
  • Learn business fundamentals including operations, finance, safety, and production management

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agribusiness, or a related field preferred
  • Previous swine or livestock production experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
  • Ability to problem-solve, adapt quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in barn environments with exposure to dust, varying temperatures, and animal dander
  • Commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity, safety, and continuous learning
  • Willingness to work hands-on in agricultural operations and grow into leadership roles

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move throughout barns for the majority of the day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently (occasionally more with assistance)
  • Comfortable working in a farm environment with dust, odors, animal dander, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to safely work around livestock and farm equipment
