Job Description
our incredible Livestock Caretaker plays a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for guests by ensuring the well-being of the animals at our Petting Farm. This hands-on position involves caring for a variety of livestock while engaging with guests to provide an educational and enjoyable experience.
As a Livestock Caretaker, you will:
  • Completing the daily opening and closing procedures of the Petting Farm
  • Taking care of all animals at the petting farm
  • Daily cleaning of all animal pens
  • Twice daily feeding and watering of all animals at petting farm
  • Ability to identify injured or sick animals and report to Livestock Manager
  • Performing pony rides daily for resort guests
  • Interacting with resort guests, teaching them about the animals and the petting farm procedures
  • Responsible for enforcing safety rules and procedures with resort guests
  • Interacting with, handling, brushing, leading all animals at petting farm
  • Responsible for keeping work and guest areas neat and clean
  • Help with inventory of food and livestock
  • Loading and unloading 50lb bags of feed and hay bales for animals
  • Knowledge of livestock, and ability to work well with others, as well as independently
  • Enthusiasm, energy, drive, job devotion, and personal ambition
  • Participating in certain special events
  • Some duties may vary

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver's license to drive company golf carts
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Westgate Resorts is a Smoke and Tobacco-Free workplace. Except where prohibited by law, applicants who smoke or use tobacco products will not be considered for positions at Westgate
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
