Hospice Companionship Visits Volunteer

Heart to Heart Hospice in San Marcos

Wimberley, TX โ€ข On-site

Job description

Volunteers are a vital and valuable part of our patients' care teams!

We welcome caring volunteers who can visit our hospice patients to spend time with them and brighten their day. We provide volunteer services in San Marcos, Lockhart, Luling, Seguin, Kyle, Buda, Gonzales, and New Braunfels.

1-2 visits a month (or more) makes all the difference! Read to them, reminisce, play a game, play music, play an instrument, sit with the patient, or help them with a scheduled activity like bingo. Some of our patients live in a nursing/rehab facility and some live in their home or a family member's home.

We provide volunteer training and ongoing support (and appreciation!) to ensure our volunteers feel comfortable and equipped to provide this important service that makes such a big difference in someone's end of life experience. We can even bring the training to you if you live outside of San Marcos. Please call or email if you are interested in helping us give compassionate care for our patients and their families.

Additional or alternate volunteer option: Administrative Work: Answering phones, filing, assist recruiting and special projects.

*All volunteers must have their COVID Vaccinations*
