PRESS READY MOUNTER - 3RD SHIFT 12:00 Midnight - 8:00 am

General Responsibilities: The Mounter is directed daily by the Press Supervisor. Prepares sleeves for installation in flexographic printing presses and is responsible for quality/productivity associated with materials processed through assigned machinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  1. FACILITY

In this position, the employee is responsible for the preparation of sleeves for installation in flexographic printing presses. Position entails mounting photopolymer plates onto sleeves and proofing. Notify management whenever equipment is found to be malfunctioning, damaged, or in need of repair. Maintain production and quality standards as set forth by supervision. Organizes workflow for smooth operation. Makes necessary adjustments and monitors equipment so that product complies with work order. Other duties may be assigned.

Lifts and places printing sleeves of specified size on mounter-proofing machine. Measures and sets cameras used as guides for alignment of printing plates. Applies cushion backing to sleeve to prep for plate mounting. Maneuvers plate on sleeve for proper position according to job specifications. Checks plates versus supplied proofs to verify accuracy.

Strip used sleeves, clean and file. Record meters run for wear tracking.

  1. OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

Must have good speaking skills. Must be able to read, write and understand English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and employees both in person and through written and verbal correspondence. Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and be self-motivated.

  1. HEALTH AND SAFETY

Adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with American Fuji Seal's guidelines. Visually inspects the facility for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and helps to maintain a clean work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work overtime and any schedule that management deems necessary to maintain production

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in Industrial Technology or related field
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Color Management.
  • 5-15 years related experience and training in printing process.
  • Basic knowledge of plastic films.
  • Basic knowledge of solvent base and water base inks.

Physical Demand:

  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling are required.
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing computer and working within arm's reach.
  • The worker may be subject to hazards: proximity to moving forklift and stored chemicals.

Travel Required:

  • Less than 10 percent required
