General Manager

Gulf Copperโ€™s primary business is the repair and refurbishment of marine vessels, ship construction, and fabrication for transportation, government, and oil and gas markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Responsible for the safe operation of the facility in accordance with the companyโ€™s overall safety goals and desires.
  2. Maximize financial returns on capital resources and human resources through well planned operations and long-term cost controls.
  3. Continuously monitor organizational structure, equipment and facility improvements that may need to be adjusted for ensuring ability to meet current company goals.
  4. Work closely with all Corporate and Senior Management team, including other facility managers, to ensure most efficient integration of corporate assets/staff.
  5. Ensure compliance with Gulf Copper Mission Statement.
  6. Plan, direct and coordinate all aspects of business unit/facility operations.
  7. Review and approve all contracts, in conjunction with Corporate In-house Council prior to signature and ensure contracts are well managed to maximize safety, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  8. Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  9. Ensure that vendors and suppliers meet the needs of the company in performance and financial requirements.
  10. In coordination with the Corporate Human Resources Department, interview, hire, select and train managers and supervisors for the business unit/facility.ย  Provide guidance on hiring and training other managers and supervisors at the business unit/facility.
  11. Provide the required motivation, discipline, evaluations, and feedback required for direct reports as well as their subordinates.
  12. Provide leadership and motivation to develop a team environment and maximize efforts of team behaviors.

Required Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree or 10 years relevant experience in senior management position
  2. Preferable; MBA

Working Conditions:

  1. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and / or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
