Gulf Side Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Irvine, California. Work Environment

This role is located onsite at a modern hospital facility in Irvine, a vibrant city known for its commitment to healthcare excellence. You will work Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule while providing essential care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in the execution of customized treatment protocols for patients experiencing a variety of physical challenges, including post-surgery rehabilitation, injury recovery, and chronic pain management.
• Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and stretches, ensuring they understand the correct techniques to maximize recovery.
• Regularly monitor and document progress in patients’ physical therapy journeys, providing clear feedback and updates to supervising physical therapists to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on at-home care options, safe exercise practices, and strategies to enhance recovery and prevent re-injury.
• Maintain and set up therapy equipment, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations, which are essential for effective patient care.
• Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards, including HIPAA guidelines, to protect patient privacy and ensure quality care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse range of patients, from children recovering from sports injuries to older adults experiencing mobility impairments due to age-related issues. Each patient’s treatment plan is tailored to their unique needs, enabling you to apply your skills across various age groups and physical conditions. Your compassionate approach will directly impact their rehabilitation, providing encouragement and support as they strive to regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid California PTA license or eligibility to obtain one is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain within the initial onboarding period.
• Strong communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience with a focus on helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting is preferred, allowing you to bring a wealth of knowledge to our team and enhance patient care.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, assisting in documentation and compliance tracking.
• Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to meet the varying needs of patients across different stages of their recovery process.

Compensation and Benefits
