Work Environment

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at our hospital-based facility, you will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced onsite setting. Your work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced personal life while dedicating your skills to patient care. You will be surrounded by specialists, physicians, and other healthcare providers who are committed to a collaborative approach in treating patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed physical therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans addressing diverse patient needs, including those recovering from surgical interventions or managing chronic conditions.
  • Guide patients through exercise routines during therapy sessions, ensuring proper technique to maximize results and prevent injuries.
  • Regularly assess and document patient progress, communicating key observations and any concerns to the supervising physical therapist for ongoing treatment adjustments.
  • Educate patients and their families on safe at-home care strategies, including injury prevention techniques and tailored exercise programs to maintain independence.
  • Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and adequately set up for treatment to provide the highest standard of care.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring patient privacy and professional integrity at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, followed by an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • A valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire to ensure patient safety during therapy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals throughout their journey.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in a physical therapy setting is preferred, though newly licensed PTAs are encouraged to apply if they are passionate about patient care.
