Job description

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for a Heavy Truck Driver to work in Fort Hood, TX. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!
Responsibilities
  • The Truck Driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers' houses or places of business.
  • This driver may also load or unload truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order.
  • There are two Truck Driver categories on the EAGLE contract. They include:
    • TRUCKDRIVER, HEAVY TRUCK: Straight truck, over 4 tons, usually 10 wheels.
    • TRUCKDRIVER, TRACTOR-TRAILER: A trailer having a set or several sets of wheels at the rear only, with the forward portion being supported by the truck tractor or towing.

Qualifications
  • Heavy Truck Driver candidate must have a Commercial Driver's License.
  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years truck driving experience.
  • Must have the ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Must have a current and valid medical card.
  • Must have the ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result.

Desired Qualification:
  • High School Diploma/GED.

Pay & Benefits:
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $24.62
  • Hourly Health & Welfare: $5.09
  • Work schedule consists of a 50-hour work week. Any hours worked over 40 hours per week will be compensated at the applicable overtime rate.
