We are seeking an experienced Telecom Construction Supervisor with a strong background in fiber splicing and telecommunications construction. This dual-role position will oversee field construction activities while also supporting and managing fiber splicing operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.


Responsibilities

As a Construction Supervisor, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.  

In addition, you will: 

  • Develop your team’s skill set and knowledge of telecom construction (Aerial and underground) 
  • Lead by example and support the company-wide safety culture 
  • Drive your team to meet deadlines and produce quality projects 
  • Provide a high level of customer service when interfacing with customers
  • Gives direction to multiple crews and their job site activities 
  • Supervise daily telecom construction activities, including underground and aerial fiber installation
  • Oversee and support fiber splicing operations, including troubleshooting and quality control
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and materials to meet project timelines
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications
  • Review and track production, including splicing progress and restoration timelines
  • Conduct field inspections and audits to ensure quality workmanship
  • Manage and communicate updates on project status, delays, and risks
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for construction and splicing teams
  • Support emergency restoration efforts and help meet required TTR (Time to Restore) goals

Qualifications

  • You are an experienced leader who supported the day-to-day needs of a construction crew
  • You know the telecom construction industry (Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading, etc.)
  • You enjoy problem-solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field 
  • You embrace the challenge of coaching and mentoring your team
  • You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn custom software 
  • You have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the market (Applicants are subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and must meet company standards for a safe driving record) 
  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications construction
  • 2+ years of experience in fiber splicing (Fusion splicing is preferred) 
  • Strong understanding of fiber networks, including FTTH, backbone, and distribution systems
  • Experience managing field crews and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints and splice schematics
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in telecom construction
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with large-scale fiber deployments (FTTH or similar)
  • Familiarity with OTDR testing, light level testing, and troubleshooting
  • Previous experience working with service providers (e.g., Frontier, AT&T, etc.)
  • Combination of field and office work, and may require extended hours, weekends, and emergency response during outages 
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
