Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Fabricator for an industrial rope and rigging manufacturer in West Sacramento, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $21-$23/hr on a Monday-Friday day schedule. In this role, you will splice wire rope, fabricate chain slings, and operate swaging and proof-testing machines to build assemblies used in construction, crane operations, mining, and energy industries. This is a long-term placement with a company that builds specialty rigging products for high-stakes applications.
Pay: $21-$23/hr
Schedule: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Location: West Sacramento, CA
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Distribution Yard and Shop Setting
Responsibilities
  • Splice wire rope and fabricate chain slings and synthetic rope assemblies to customer specifications.
  • Operate industrial swaging machines, proof testing machines, cutting machines, crimping tools, and winches.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, capacity tables, and order tickets to calculate cut lengths and fitting requirements.
  • Use a tape measure and digital micrometer to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Attach identification tags and labels to completed assemblies.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory record keeping.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in a shop, assembly, or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with wire rope splicing, rigging assembly, or chain sling fabrication.
  • Familiarity with swaging machines, proof testing equipment, crimping tools, or winches.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Background in construction, crane, mining, energy, or oil and gas industries.
  • Basic math skills sufficient to calculate cut lengths and fitting requirements.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and digital micrometer accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or order tickets.
