Structural Steel Estimator – Manage Complex Commercial and Industrial Builds

Job Overview

  • Company: CW Industries.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $120,000 to $160,000 per year plus Performance Based Bonus.

  • Location: Long Beach, California.

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, and Utility Infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You will serve as a technical linchpin, bridging the gap between pre-construction accuracy and field execution for structural steel and industrial projects. This role offers the unique chance to apply deep estimating expertise to real-world project management within a relaxed, family-oriented environment. You will have the autonomy to drive successful project delivery without the burden of heavy corporate oversight.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Evaluate project drawings and specifications to ensure absolute constructability and scope accuracy.

  • Coordinate with internal superintendents and subcontractors to align project sequencing and maintain strict timelines.

  • Execute detailed material take-offs and bid preparations to prevent cost impacts and project delays.

  • Resolve real-time technical issues and scheduling adjustments to keep industrial projects moving forward.

  • Manage change orders and subcontractor accountability to protect project budgets and high-quality standards.

  • Serve as a trusted technical resource, offering practical improvements for estimating and planning processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 to 20 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or a hybrid role.

  • Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints for commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and collaborate effectively with field superintendents.

  • Solid understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and scope coordination.

  • High level of integrity and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.

  • Technical background specifically in structural steel or miscellaneous metals.
