Job description

A prestigious AmLaw firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join its Downtown Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a polished legal professional looking to join a sophisticated, high-end firm with an exceptional benefits package and a 37.5-hour workweek.


The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of litigation legal secretary experience and strong knowledge of both California state and federal court procedures. Experience supporting labor & employment litigators is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys handling sophisticated labor & employment litigation matters
  • Prepare, revise, format and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Handle state and federal court filings, including e-filing
  • Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines and court dates
  • Assist with discovery, pleadings, motions and trial preparation
  • Coordinate meetings, depositions and other case-related activities
  • Manage documents and maintain organized electronic case files
  • Provide high-level administrative support in a fast-paced professional environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation legal secretary experience
  • Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Labor & employment litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent document formatting, proofreading and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work with attorneys at all levels
