Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

This is a 12-hour shift, working a 2-2-3 schedule, 5:45 pm - 6 am. 

 To produce chemical batches for wet wipe manufacturing, maintain chemical inventory, monitor and control performance on water purification system.   This is a safety sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

This position primarily interacts with Operations but also requires interaction with all support departments including but not limited to Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Human Resources.

  1. Produce and maintain supply of wet wipe solution for production.
  2. Receive Liquid Batch and produce Shop Orders through BPCS.
  3. Issue raw materials to Shop Order through Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  4. Enter Shop Ticket numbers into WMS and issue liquid to the Shop Ticket
  5. Know and understand liquid transport system, label the piping, as well as maintain labeling as system changes
  6. Monitor, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on Ultra Purified Water (UPW) system.
  7. Maintain computer records on liquid lots and production yields.
  8. Able to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawings(P&ID) or blueprints.
  9. Assist production with the sanitization of equipment
  10. Maintain cleaning and sanitization logs for the compounding room
  11. Know and understand wastewater permit requirements
  12. Test and discharge wastewater
  13. Verify accuracy of flow meters used with the compounding systems
  14. Maintain forklift certification and knowledge of forklift operator responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

·         Good Computer Skills, Proficient in Microsoft Excel

·         Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and how to retrieve information form them

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         Prior experience in Chemical Compounding, proven ability to follow written complex instructions or versed knowledge of liquid delivery/wetting systems preferred.

·         Manufacturing experience

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Good math skills, ability to understand, interpret, and follow batch instructions. Good Communication skills, Adaptable to and positive toward change. Ability to work in a team-focused environment. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

NONE:

No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.  Repeated risk of exposure to chemicals used in wet wipe formulation as well as concentrated sanitization and other cleaning materials.
