About Lipton Law

Lipton Law is a well-established personal injury and medical malpractice firm based in

Southfield, Michigan, dedicated to advocating for clients who have been injured through the

negligence of others. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Legal Assistant to join

our team. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience and the ability to provide

essential administrative and procedural support to our attorneys, with experience in legal office

operations, Microsoft Office, and navigating the Michigan court system. This role is well-suited

for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and takes pride in accurate,

compassionate, and timely work.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, independent medical examinations

(IMEs), hearings, client meetings, and other appointments with precision and proactive

follow-through

โ€ข Draft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings,

demand letters, and other materials using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,

PowerPoint)

โ€ข File documents electronically and physically within the Michigan court system, including

e-filing through TrueFiling, MiFILE, or applicable court portals

โ€ข Coordinate service of process, manage court-imposed deadlines, and maintain accurate

calendaring of litigation events

โ€ข Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients, medical providers,

opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, court clerks, and other third parties on behalf of

attorneys

โ€ข Organize and maintain case files, including medical records, bills, and correspondence

related to personal injury and medical malpractice matters

โ€ข Assist with discovery, including organizing and indexing records, preparing binders, and

coordinating with medical experts and witnesses

โ€ข Maintain and update case records in the Filevine Case Management system as

applicable

โ€ข Perform general office support duties including scanning, copying, and maintaining

organized physical and digital filing systems

Qualifications

โ€ข Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role

โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

โ€ข Working knowledge of Michigan court procedures, local court rules, and e-filing systems

โ€ข Experience supporting personal injury, medical malpractice, or related litigation practice

areas

โ€ข Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

โ€ข Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

โ€ข Professional written and verbal communication skills, with a compassionate approach to

client interaction

โ€ข Mandatory in-office training period. Opportunity for remote/hybrid work thereafter

Preferred:
