Linux System Administrator / Cyber Security Professional needed: McLeansville, NC.  Must be Clearable!
 
We have an opening with a great client of ours and we are looking for a Linux System Administrator / Cyber Security Professional to work a contract position in McLeansville, NC.  This is a 12 month long contract position and you must be a US Citizen to apply. Required: US Citizenship and Residency, W2 hourly Contract Only, No 1099, No third parties, no C2C.  No exceptions (Sorry)
 
Pay: $55 to $61.70/hr. D.O.E.    Must be Clearable!
 
LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR / CYBER SECURITY PROFESSIONAL
Supporting engineering development and maintenance of programs. Lead Information Assurance efforts for several programs. System administration and network designaintenance, primarily Linux and Cisco. Hands on work supporting all aspects of network maintenance. Candidates need to be capable of performing multiple duties, including Linux installation, hardening, scanning, and patching; Cisco installs, configuration, troubleshooting; hands on cabling, rack/stack, etc.
The position is supporting engineering development programs, not corporate IT.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Support engineering development and maintenance of programs
  • Linux system administration
  • Network equipment (primarily Cisco) setup and maintenance
  • Design and implementation of cybersecurity solutions
  • Works well in a team, can accept direction and constructive criticism
  • Independently identifies tasks or projects that need to be done and effectively prioritizes time to complete multiple assignments
  • Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons
  • Willingness to support both domestic and international travel up to 10%
  • Holds ownership by identifying alternatives in the midst of barriers to progress
  • Supports continuous improvement initiative

  • Experienced in Linux System Administrator for small/medium size networks
  • Understanding of vulnerability and compliance scanning, analysis of the scan results, and security patching specifically for the DoD
  • Working knowledge of Linux hardening
  • Familiarity with cyber security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and other government security specifications and guidelines.
  • Network architecture and the application of network setup (LAN, NICs, Router Configurations)
  • Experienced in Cisco equipment for small/medium size networks
  • Hands-on experience setting up networks, including servers, network infrastructure equipment, and network end devices
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Demonstrates ability to move into new teams and quickly learn project defined specific process while applying past knowledge and experience
  • Proven documentation skills and technical writing
  • Communicating technical information clearly so that it may be understood by a non-technical individual
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a specialized area or equivalent relevant experience is required; plus, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Linux system administration, RHCSA a bonus
  • Network+/Security+ or equivalent experience, CISSP a bonus
  • Cisco experience, CCNP a bonus
  • Experience with general network administration, Server+/Linux+ a bonus
