Conversions or Finishing Production Area

Role: 12-hour Nightshift Supervisor Position at Qnity's Bellevue Plant in Newark, DE

This position reports to the Poromerics Backend Operations Leader and oversees Operations within our Conversions or Finishing production area (two openings). The First Line Supervisor is responsible for managing operators, monitoring production and quality, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring safety regulations are enforced.The First Line Leader works with production teams, technical teams, and upper-level management to continue driving and optimizing production.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Management
    • Shift supervisor overseeing ~14 direct reports.
    • Assess, manage, coach, and develop direct reports.
    • Partner with Poromerics Training Coordinator to effectively grow and develop operators.
    • Lead shift team(s) by setting high standards and upholding operating discipline.
    • Effectively communicate business direction to gain alignment amongst direct reports.
  • Production & Quality Management
    • Oversee and lead production activities within production area.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling occurs to meet production schedule.
    • Ensure continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality.
    • Understand and verify critical procedures and standard work for each process.
    • Drive quality culture through coaching and partnership with Quality team.
    • Assist technical team members with troubleshooting and process related corrective actions.
  • Activity Coordination
    • Interface with Poromerics Asset Schedulers for coordination of production schedules and understanding of customer needs and ensuring execution of production schedules by team members.
    • Interface with Poromerics Asset Coordinators/Gate Keepers for coordination of maintenance work and ensuring team member execution of the maintenance plan.
    • Interface with site maintenance and operations staff to ensure the work management process is effectively followed in an efficient manner.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Support and lead improvement programs and initiatives for the area.
    • Drive continuous improvement toward increased competitiveness and waste elimination through LEAN methodology.
    • Work with technical team members to identify continuous improvement opportunities and support implementation.
  • Organizational Leadership
    • Support production and activities across all shifts within area.
    • Communicate critical information to next shift and Area Manager.
    • Report on key metrics including performance and uptime daily.
    • Support organization objectives and projects.
Role Qualifications and Capabilities
  • Experience Types Recommended/Considered
    • CMPT Manufacturing, Leadership, or Engineering.
    • High School diploma with 3-years direct leadership and manufacturing experience.
    • Associates or B.S. degree with manufacturing experience.
    • B.S. in engineering encouraged to apply.
