Location: This is a remote position; hybrid opportunities available in the Kansas City Metro
Role Summary
The Lilac Center is seeking a highly qualified, Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our thriving practice in the Kansas City Metro. Our ideal candidate is an experienced clinician who is passionate about providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan-ages 5 through 80-in an outpatient setting who works a minimum of 16 hours per week.
Psychiatrist Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in the outpatient setting.
  • Provide medication management and therapy to a diverse patient population.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric treatment and research methodologies.
  • Make referrals for psychotherapy when indicated and collaborate with all other mental health professionals involved in the patient's care to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records completely all documentation in compliance with legal/ethical standards.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights, including access to psychiatric services and medications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Kansas and Missouri, or willing to obtain
  • Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD or DO)
  • Possess and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration ("DEA") number and all other licenses and certificates that may be lawfully required to prescribe medications, including controlled substances.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and older adults (ages 5-80) in private practice
  • Strong understanding of psychiatrist assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic techniques
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions in psychiatric treatment
