InHouse Substitute Teacher

Position Summary
The inhouse substitute teacher provides daily instructional support across grade levels (K4-8th) and subject areas, ensuring continuity of learning when classroom teachers are absent. This role supports the schools Christian mission by modeling Christcentered character, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and partnering with staff to uphold academic and spiritual standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction based on lesson plans left by the teacher or, when needed, create ageappropriate learning activities aligned with school curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment that reflects Christian values and supports student engagement.
  • Manage classroom behavior using schoolapproved expectations, redirection strategies, and positive reinforcement.
  • Communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and support staff regarding student progress, concerns, or incidents during the teachers absence.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, chapel, and other assigned duties.
  • Support the spiritual development of students by participating in prayer, devotionals, and other faithbased activities as appropriate.
  • Adapt quickly to different grade levels, teaching styles, and classroom needs throughout the school day.
  • Complete required documentation such as attendance, behavior notes, and endofday reports for the returning teacher.

Work Schedule & Structure

  • Fulltime, onsite position during the academic year. Option to work during summer school.
  • Assigned daily to classrooms based on school needs; may serve in multiple rooms or grade levels in a single day.
  • Occasional support for school events, chapel services, or special programs.
