Job Description:

GDIT is seeking an Army Business Development Director to focus on pursuing opportunities and growing business with its Army sector. This Director will lead business development concentrated on a range of Army customers, including, but not limited to the PAE-Maneuver, Army Aviation and UAS\C-UAS communities. The director may also focus on geographically concentrated opportunities specific to the Huntsville market, as well as additional customers such as PAE Fires.

The position will support our Defense Division and can be fully remote with occasional travel to our headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia and customer sites.Everyday GDIT makes a difference in how the government serves our country and our citizens.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Business Development Director, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Department of the Army. You will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities where GDIT can partner with the Army to deliver game-changing capabilities in support of Army transformation, while also growing our business.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all aspects of account growth, new business development and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts.
  • Meet with customers to understand the customer territory-relative to portfolio of deals
  • Develop a pipeline of new opportunities for assigned Sector or market segment
  • Lead identification and qualification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, Sector growthgoals, and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycle.
  • Lead early development of win strategy during the Assessment Phase, prior to assignment of a Capture Manager
  • Lead identification, qualification, and capture on select OTAs with assistance from the Defense CTO/SA.
  • Execute call plans to collect information about particular opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, proffers and tests potential solutions; qualifies opportunities;document customer meetings in Salesforce.
  • Meet with OEM vendors, other GD business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customers
  • Develop customer relationships, improve customer intimacy
  • Identifies competitors, assess strategic fit, assess OCI
  • Prepare for and brief opportunities at formal gate reviews.
  • Develop and brief Pursuit Reviews
  • Provide insight from customer point of view throughout opportunity life cycle.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your initiative and drive for innovation and growth to GDIT. The Army Business Development Director must have:

  • Education: BS/BA Degree Required
  • Experience: 10+ years of Sales/BD/Capture/Proposal/ and/or operational experience within the DoW/Army environment, preferably in a technical area (Aviation, Fires, Autonomy, Counter Autonomous Systems) and/or acquisition background (i.e. ACC, PAE-Maneuver, PAE-FIRES)
  • Experience w\ Strategic Planning
  • Prior experience with aviation, fires, robotic and/or autonomous systems
  • Prior experience working with technical partners / engineering teams
  • Ability to interface with a wide range of U.S. Department of War and international customers
  • Assuming prior business development experience, willingness to provide 'deal sheet' of opportunities led and supported with results (won, lost, pending) [without disclosing proprietary information]
  • Clearance: Secret Clearance required to start, with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI
  • Location: Remote
  • Ability to travel 25%-50%
  • US Citizenship Required

Desired Qualifications:

  • MS Degree
  • Expertise in at least one additional Army market besides the core markets of the PAE Maneuver
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce), SharePoint, and all MS Office applications
  • Deep knowledge in at least one technical discipline, ie Cloud Services, Software Development, Networks, digital modernization, contested logistics, etc
  • Prior experience with government business development, government contract structures, government proposal processes
  • Prior experience in defense capture related to robotic and autonomous systems and software-defined capability
  • STEM background
  • Desired TS with SCI eligibility

The likely salary range for this position is $174,250 - $235,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
