Schedule: Approximately 20 Hours per Week / 0.50 FTE
Work Arrangement: Primarily Remote with Required Travel to Fort Lee, VA
Clearance: Active Final Secret Required


The Opportunity

For this position, knowing Army sustainment terminology isn't enough-we need someone who has actually worked in GCSS-Army and can explain what the data means operationally.

The GCSS-Army / SAP Sustainment SME will provide authoritative functional interpretation of GCSS-Army, SAP ECC, and related G4 data. You'll translate Army operational questions into data requirements and ensure dashboards, applications, and AI/ML models accurately reflect Army business rules.


What You'll Do
  • Define and validate Army sustainment business rules.
  • Identify authoritative GCSS-Army, SAP, NLAC, and G4 data sources.
  • Translate operational questions into source fields, relationships, transactions, measures, and data requirements.
  • Validate dashboard KPIs and analytical measures.
  • Validate AI/ML model features and forecasts against operational realities.
  • Review and validate application workflows.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between analytical results and source-system records.
  • Explain data latency, missing data, status codes, units of measure, organizational relationships, coding practices, and process exceptions.
  • Participate in requirements, data-design, model-review, dashboard-review, and acceptance sessions.
  • Support user documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Help prioritize analytics and AI use cases according to Army operational value.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Active final Secret clearance.
  • Direct, hands-on GCSS-Army experience.
  • 7+ years supporting Army logistics, sustainment, maintenance, supply, property, readiness, ammunition, distribution, or financial operations.
  • 3+ years of direct GCSS-Army or SAP ECC experience.
  • Functional Army sustainment expertise.
  • Ability to interpret GCSS-Army/SAP data fields, transactions, statuses, relationships, and business rules.
  • Substantive experience in at least two of the following:
    • Supply and inventory
    • Maintenance and equipment readiness
    • Property accountability
    • Financial management
    • Shop stock and bench stock
    • Distribution or transportation
    • Ammunition or NLAC-related operations
  • Experience reviewing GCSS-Army reports, extracts, transactions, or data for operational decision support.
  • Ability to explain source-system limitations, data timing, status codes, units of measure, organizational relationships, and business-rule exceptions.
  • Availability for recurring requirements and validation sessions.


Strongly Preferred
  • Background as an Army logistics warrant officer, senior NCO, functional analyst, ERP analyst, or sustainment data analyst.
  • GCSS-Army BI, BusinessObjects, Army Vantage, AESIP, LMP, or related reporting-platform experience.
  • Power BI, SQL, Excel Power Query, data mapping, or testing experience.
  • CASCOM, AMC, IMCOM, Army G-4, sustainment brigade, installation logistics, or depot experience.
  • System migration, data reconciliation, or enterprise analytics experience.
