Job description

Lifeguard Supervisor

It is the responsibility of a Lifeguard Supervisor to properly supervise all swimming areas and effectively manage daily lifeguard duties in order to help keep patrons, staff and facilities safe. A Lifeguard Supervisor will be expected to maintain a professional attitude and assist guests with general questions regarding the pool and the Golden Nugget property. A Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for the execution and timeliness of lifeguard rotations as well as the tracking of towel inventory, lifeguard equipment and first-aid supplies. A Lifeguard Supervisor will additionally be expected to help maintain the general cleanliness of the Pool area and assist the Pool Operations team with day to day tasks. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily lifeguard rotation, tasks & duties and cleaning requirements for the pool area.
  • Responsible for ensuring daily lifeguard rotation is executed in a responsible and timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring information regarding Lifeguard staffing plan is accurately communicated to all lifeguards and standards within are being followed by all lifeguarding staff.
  • Responsible for welcoming guests to the pool as well as monitoring guest items to ensure departmental policies and procedures are upheld.
  • Must have an outgoing / can do attitude.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-10 hour shift, while working in temps ranging from 40 – 120 degrees.
  • Candidate must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while monitoring the pool deck ensuring guest conditions are desirable and safe.
  • Candidate must be able to problem solve while under pressure.
  • Candidate must be able to manage own time as well as other when placed in a leadership position.
  • Candidate must be punctual and maintain good standings with attendance within the operation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing Lifeguard Management course within first 2 months of employment.
  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the SNHD Lifeguard Staffing Plan are being executed by on duty lifeguards on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for planning and executing monthly Lifeguard In-service and development of Emergency Action Procedures.
  • Responsible for completing daily Lifeguard Stand Rotation and updates.

Qualifications:

  • Obtain a valid Lifeguard CPR/AED Certification; lifeguard management course preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED (or actively seeking).
  • A minimum of 6 months Lifeguarding experience at a high volume resort pool (or equivalent).
  • Minimum age requirement is 18.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
