WHAT OUR LIFEGUARD SUPERVISORS DO 

Our Lifeguard Supervisors oversee lifeguard operations, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and provide leadership to maintain a secure and enjoyable waterpark environment. 

A LIFEGUARD SUPERVISOR'S DAY-TO-DAY

  • Oversee daily lifeguard operations and rotations to maintain proper staffing and efficiency. 
  • Evaluate lifeguard performance and provide feedback for growth and retention. 
  • Administer general and on-the-job training for aquatic team members. 
  • Assist management in coaching and counseling lifeguard team members as needed. 
  • Ensure the safety of Guests and employees remains the highest priority. 
  • Conduct safety audits on aquatic attendants, lifeguards, and head lifeguards. 
  • Facilitate proactive and reactive safety responses to emergency situations and inform management of incidents. 
  • Maintain 30-second protection standard over Guests in the assigned zone of protection. 
  • Complete live audit logs in accordance with Ellis & Associate standards. 
  • Ensure compliance with all operational and safety procedures outlined in SOPs. 
  • Maintain training and operational documentation, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and compliant. 
  • Complete team member schedules that align with proper staffing levels and labor law compliance. 
  • Monitor waterpark attractions, including safety checklists, inspections, hourly water chemistry testing, and maintenance reporting. 
  • Stop attraction operations when necessary to ensure Guest and team safety. 
  • Maintain professionalism while enforcing park policies and engaging with Guests. 
  • Attend a minimum of four hours of in-service training per month to retain lifeguard certification. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support park operations. 

WHAT IT TAKES 

  • Minimum age: 18 years. 
  • Minimum one year in a Lifeguard role. 
  • Must be CPR/AED Certified. 
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to react calmly in emergencies. 
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain an Ellis & Associate Lifeguard license. 
  • Licensing includes Water Rescues, CPR, Rescue Breathing, First Aid, and AED. 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor team members. 
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and six-day workweeks as required. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Typical entertainment and waterpark environment where you'll walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, and may lift objects with some assistance. You'll work outdoors in various weather conditions and remain highly alert throughout your shift.
