Job Summary/Purpose:

Performs sonography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, performs variety of procedures that require independent judgement. Provides complete and quality service to physicians and patients. Demonstrates good clinical skills and Judgement.

Pay: $35.91 to $52.07USD

Sign on bonus available: $5,000.00 USD

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

· Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examination

· Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identity, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images

· Reviews patient charts & Doctor’s notes after examination. Confirming patient identification with 2 identifiers.

· Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings

· Analyses sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician

· Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care

· Maintains changes and history in the EMR & PACS

· Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician.

· Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required

· Reports equipment failures to Director

· Ensures proper sterilization of probes & storage of equipment

· Maintains adequate supplies & linens

· Enters medication used in EMR

You’re an excellent fit, if you have:

  • graduated from a formal, approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • AART or ARDMS certified in Sonography (ABD, OB, GYN, Vascular & Breast preferred)
  • current BLS certification
  • good active listening and critical thinking skills
  • ability to exercise good judgement & decision making
  • willingness to be flexible
