What is a licensing intern?

Licensing Interns are entry-level professionals who assist licensing departments in managing, processing, and tracking licenses for products, intellectual property, or business operations. This role provides valuable exposure to legal, administrative, and business aspects of licensing, making it a great starting point for a career in intellectual property, law, or business operations.

What does a licensing intern do?

As a Licensing Intern, you can expect to support the licensing team with a variety of tasks such as conducting market research on potential partners, assisting in the preparation and review of licensing agreements, and maintaining databases of active licenses. You may also help coordinate communications between internal departments like legal, marketing, and product development, and support the tracking and reporting of royalty payments. This hands-on experience offers valuable insights into how intellectual property is managed and commercialized, and provides opportunities to develop skills in negotiation, compliance, and project management.
