IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Rock Island, IL to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice that support positive client outcomes. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
In this role, you will support project execution within budget, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help meet project goals and client expectations. The team you would join works heavily in education and campus settings, with additional experience in healthcare, civic lighting, aviation, and facility assessments, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
• Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
• Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively while building and maintaining client relationships through professional communication
• Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team, assisting with project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives
• Assist with documenting design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
• Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, while supporting work within the project's monetary budget to meet project goals and client expectations
What You'll Bring
Required Education
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
• Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
• Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (Building Information Model) software
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

State of Illinois Pay Range: $37.00-$38.50 per hour
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
