About this job

The Sr. Analyst, Technical Support and Business Monitoring at CarMax Auto Finance (CAF) reviews, analyzes, and evaluates the most complex Information Technology systems operations tickets to provide application support to CarMax end-users. This support can be either reactive to production problems, systems outages, and immediate business changes; or, this support can be proactive to support planned business objectives.   The role will also mentor new or junior support analysts in the performance of their duties and the understanding of the company systems.

Additionally, the Senior Analyst, Technical Support and Reporting will provide leadership in the operational reporting and dashboard efforts to ensure that CAF Operations has the information needed to effectively run the business.

What you will do

  • Provide business monitoring to all areas of CAF Operations by determining key metrics or data needs, leverage a variety of company systems and databases to obtain data needed, extract needed data using code and translate the key metrics into standardized reports.  In addition to conducting data analysis, ability to evaluate trending information including Service-Now reporting and monitoring.

  • Lead and/or support the planning, development, testing, implementation, customer reporting, and user support for IT systems applications.  Develop functional specifications and perform functional analysis, module configuration, data conversion, and testing.

  • Mentor more Junior analysts in their work.

  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot basic to complex system challenges.  

  • Ability to evaluate the ROI of a request and effectively influence and evaluate to balance the needs of the business and the effort needed to execute on the request. Ability to do complex root cause analysis through multiple applications, business scenarios, and identify short & long term solutions.

Purpose of the role

This person will frequently be found interacting with business users at CAF and Home Office IT to better understand system issues, causes and contributing factors to assist in determining a resolution to the problem.    This individual has a strong working knowledge of Database schemas and the ability to use Structured Query Language tools. This person is frequently seen as a subject matter expert in the area under their responsibility and is involved with the design of systems enhancements. Additionally, this role will be critical in developing a visual reporting framework to help the business have the right tools available.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in IT related course of study preferred and/or 4+ years of experience in a technical/support role

  • Experience in the following coding, tools and concepts: 

  • Microsoft SQL Server scripting and Data models

  • SQL Transmitter, DB artesian and Teradata

  • Relational DB Design/Dimensional Modeling

  • Database Schemas, Data Migration and Scripting

  • Security and Data Protection, Security Compliance & Data Storage Solutions

  • Reusable Code and Libraries

  • Server Side Logic

  • Authentication/Authorization and Unit Testing

  • Automated/Performance Testing

Work Location And Arrangement: This role will be based out of Atlanta, GA CarMax Auto Finance Office (Kennesaw, GA).  Associates will work onsite 4 days per week.

Work Authorization:  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role

The annual salary for this position is:

$87,500.00 - $131,300.00

May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Benefits:

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:

  • To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company. 
  • For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.  If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay. 

Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
