Job description

Library Services Associate

Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Library Services Associate for the Gus Nichols Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to help support library patrons, serving as a guide in the use of library materials and resources. This position will oversee library operations in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position, requiring some evening and weekend work hours as assigned within a department rotation schedule.

Summary of Duties:

  • Process and track requests for loans of library materials from other libraries
  • Maintain library collections, which includes ongoing organization, inventory, and statistics of usage
  • Maintain library collections on reserve for courses; work closely with faculty to accommodate class needs
  • Maintain the circulation records by providing usage reports and tracking overdue/lost item information and charges
  • Provide guidance to students and faculty on available library digital services
  • Assist with the checkin, checkout and shelving of books/various publications
  • Provide support for students who utilize the library for testing
  • Assist with processing materials for university archives

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous library related experience preferred
  • Active member of the church of Christ
