Job description

Global Tax Data (GTD) is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer to join our Tax AI Production Function - a high-impact team responsible for the operational health of Tax's AI solution portfolio. You will take citizen-built AI tools from development environments into production with full operational safeguards and own them operationally.
In this role, you will review architectures with original builders, address AI-specific security requirements (threat modeling, prompt injection mitigations, data handling controls), refactor for scalability, create technical documentation, and build a reusable pattern library that accelerates every subsequent solution. You will deploy AI solutions to production infrastructure, configure monitoring and alerting, establish incident response runbooks, manage security patching, and serve as the named on-call owner. You will onboard new consuming teams and provide operational health reporting.
This is a foundational role where you will define the operational standards for Tax's AI portfolio and directly unblock demand from teams waiting to adopt solutions that lack dedicated production ownership today.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
