What We Need
We are looking for an Engineering Content Creator with a strong engineering and technical background to support the development of high-quality, customer-facing documentation. This role is embedded within the product lifecycle and involves close collaboration with hardware, software, and production teams. The primary focus is on collecting, validating, and structuring technical details, including hands-on interaction with hardware and system-level understanding-to serve as the foundation for installation, service, and troubleshooting documentation.
This position is based at our facility in Woodinville, WA and reports to the Senior Technical Communications Manager.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Work hands-on with hardware, tools, and assemblies on the production floor and in lab environments to understand installation, mounting, and service procedures

  • Assemble FRUs (Field-Replaceable Units) and accessories to accurately capture real-world workflows, precautions, and safety considerations in documentation

  • Collect, validate, and organize technical input from engineering, software, and production teams

  • Develop a strong understanding of system behavior, including software interactions, logs, and error messages that impact field operations

  • Translate technical details, system logs, and error conditions into structured drafts for installation instructions, FRU procedures, and troubleshooting guides

  • Provide clear technical input and troubleshooting content to support NOC, support teams, and customer-facing teams

  • Collaborate with software teams to interpret system workflows and convert them into actionable troubleshooting guidance

  • Support product requirements development by ensuring documentation inputs are captured early and accurately

  • Prepare structured drafts for review and finalization by the Senior Technical Communications Manager

  • Ensure all outputs align with internal standards, guidelines, and approval processes

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in technical writing within an engineering-driven environment (hardware/software systems, telecommunications, aerospace, or similar)

  • Ability to work hands-on with hardware while understanding system-level and software-driven functionality

  • Strong ability to interpret logs, telemetry, and system outputs and translate them into practical troubleshooting documentation

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, software, and operations (e.g., NOC/support)

  • Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and usability

  • Experience with structured authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare) and version-controlled environments preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to capture procedural accuracy and safety considerations

  • Ability to organize complex technical information and produce clear, structured drafts

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (advanced degree in English or Communications not required)

COMPENSATION
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $95,000 - $145,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
