Description of Work
The Access Services Librarian at the Schmid Law Library is responsible for the Circulation Desk and Collection Management, ILS Fulfillment and Database Maintenance, Resource Sharing, and Delivery of Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Materials. The Access Services Librarian will work with the Associate Director to set policies and procedures for the circulation desk, supervise the Library Assistant II, and hire, train, and supervise circulation desk workers. They will oversee the maintenance, shelving, and inventory of the library's print collection, Course Reserves, past exams, reservation of study rooms, and maintaining the information on the library's web page. They will work with the Head of Cataloging to update and maintain the database of holdings, items, and circulation records of the library and the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery services, coordinating the retrieval and distribution of resources to internal and outside patrons.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to:

    • exercise sound judgment, make reasoned decisions, and provide leadership in a consultative and collaborative environment.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in library information science or equivalent
  • Three years' relevant library experience.
  • Experience with ALMA.
  • Experience managing a library circulation desk and managing part time workers.
