PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist the school librarian and certified professional staff in the media center to enable
students to effectively use the instructional materials in the center.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist students in locating reference and other instructional materials for the purpose of facilitating the proper and efficient use of media
    center books, materials and equipment
  2. Assist in reinforcement in reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, media and other skills
  3. Assist in maintaining the circulation desk operations and circulation files
  4. Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning
  5. Operate audio visual equipment as needed
  6. Assist in cataloging and filing learning materials
  7. Construct, copy, distribute and use educational materials

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with children desirable.
