Job description

Description
The Maintenance Tech nician I I will be responsible for performing complex maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing machinery . This will require a strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
This full-time position reports directly to the Manager Maintenance and is located at our Rock Island, IL manufacturing facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failures and downtime.
  • Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment history.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from accredited institution .
  • 3+ years of experience as a maintenance tech/mechanic in manufacturing environment AND/OR satisfactory completion of level I I requirements from the LDI Maintenance Training Program.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required .

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • 2+ year technical degree in Maintenance related field
  • Experience within the corrugated industry
  • Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs - Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen Event s

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting pay rate for this position is $27.00 per hour plus hourly shift differential pay . The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
